Conférence sur les matériaux avancés entre la Wuhan University of Technology et l'Université de Lorraine

Date:
Mardi, 30 Août, 2016

After the First China-France Workshop on Advanced Materials hosted by Wuhan (Wuhan University of Technology) in 2014, the University of Lorraine is proud to welcome the 2nd China-France Workshop on Advanced Materials from August 30 > September 2 in Metz which will provide an update on advanced materials research developed in both institutions. Visits of the research groups and official meetings in both Nancy and Metz are also scheduled during the conference.

Oral Presentations and posters are welcome and should deal with all aspects in the following areas:

  • Light-weight materials and structures,
  • Materials for energy,
  • Nanomaterials and nanotechnologies,
  • Multi-scale modeling and simulation of materials,
  • Education connected to material sciences.

Abstract submission:

Please go to the Submission Site (http://www.lem3.fr/CFWAM-2/). Each abstract will be reviewed by a member of the scientific committee in the relevant field

This workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for exchange of ideas, long term collaboration, and fruitful discussions. Plenary keynote lectures will give an overview about progress in some of the CFWAM-2 fields. We are looking forward to seeing you soon in Lorraine!!!

Best regards,

Chairmen of the CFWAM-2,

Jean-Jacques GAUMET and Fazhou WANG

Dear Colleagues,

The CFWAM-2 organization committee is pleased to announce the first call for the 2nd workshop on advanced materials which will take place this time in the Lorraine Region (Metz and Nancy) from July 10th until July 13th 2016. This second edition will be also organized jointly by the Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) and the Université de Lorraine (UL) with the help of the Conseil Régional de Lorraine.

This 3-day meeting will provide an update on advanced materials research developed in both institutions after the first workshop held in Wuhan in November 2014. A better research and perspective knowledge of our laboratories should help to build research and educational synergies. long term collaborations in strategic fields for our two regions, such as, the development of the European Material Valley in Lorraine via the UL (Institut Jean Lamour, LEM3, Labex DAMAS, Institut Jean Barriol) and its collaboration with engineering schools and research institutes (CENTRALE-SUPELEC, ENIM, GTL, ENSAM-ParisTech). Since the initial workshop, 5 collaborations have been initiated thanks to some financial support from the Lorraine Region for the next two years.

This joint relation will allow fruitful exchanges between our two institutions in both scientific and human aspects.

5 sessions will be organized concerning: light-weight materials and structures, materials for energy, nanomaterials and nanotechnologies, multi-scale modeling and simulation of materials and education connected to material sciences. It will be possible to bring some posters for fruitful discussion during the whole workshop. Technical visits and meetings with local authorities will be arranged in both sites (Metz and Nancy). The final program should be known soon and will be sent to you as soon as it becomes official.

Very soon, you will find the details for the preparation of the abstracts (oral presentations and posters). Note that registration for the workshop is free.

Feel free to contact us for any further information. We are looking forward to seeing you in Metz and Nancy!!

Best regards,

                                                                       The CFWAM-2 Organization Committee
